Within the scope of this project we tackled a recommendation problem using geo-location data to suggest bike tours and points of interest for cyclists. The goal of our project partner was to promote a healthier and more sustainable approach to transport and tourism, emphasizing gender and diversity inclusivity. We designed algorithms that personalized recommendations based on user location, preferences, and available routes exploring the popularity bias along the way. By highlighting scenic tours and local attractions, we enhanced the cycling experience, encouraging eco-friendly travel and supporting sustainable tourism initiatives. Our work contributed to a healthier lifestyle and environmental conservation.
